Malcolm E. Polley, CFA President and Chief Investment Officer
Malcolm serves as president and chief investment officer of Stewart Capital Advisors where he oversees the investment team and is responsible for asset management, research, performance evaluation, and asset allocation strategies for the firm’s private clients.
Malcolm played an integral part in the creation of Stewart Capital’s first mutual fund, the Stewart Capital Mid Cap Fund, and is a member of the investment team that has managed the Fund since it commenced operations in December 2006.
Malcolm began his investment career on Black Monday 1987, and has held a number of leadership positions with financial institutions in the upper Midwest. He was instrumental in helping found Marquette Advisory Services, the investment management and research arm of Marquette Bancshares, Inc.
Malcolm was named chief investment officer of S&T Wealth Management Group in May 2001, and has helped grow assets under management from $640 million to $1.3 billion. In 2005, he was named executive vice president. Malcolm received a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in finance from Iowa State University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
Malcolm has been quoted extensively in the business press and is a frequent guest on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Squawk on the Street, Power Lunch and Closing Bell; Fox TV’s Forbes on Fox, Bloomberg TV, and Bloomberg Radio.
Matthew A. DiFilippo, CFA Vice President and Director of Research
As Director of Research, Matt oversees equity research. Matt also serves as senior portfolio manager and oversees trading and performance measurement. As part of the investment team he contributes to the equity income, all-cap, mid-cap, fixed income, and asset allocation portfolios. Matt is also a member of the investment team that has managed the Stewart Capital Mid Cap Fund since it commenced operations in December 2006.
Prior to joining Stewart Capital Advisors and S&T Wealth Management Group, he was employed with Mellon Bond Associates, Mellon Financial and Scottsdale Securities.
Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in finance from Robert Morris University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Financial Analysts.
Matt speaks regularly with the financial press on the economy, the markets and offers stock picks and can be seen as a recurring guest on Bloomberg TV’s Morning Call.
Charles G. Frank, CFA Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager
Chuck is responsible for portfolio management, strategy and research for private client fixed-income assets and is a member of the all-cap, mid-cap, and equity income teams. Chuck is also a member of the investment team that has managed the Stewart Capital Mid Cap Fund since it commenced operations in December 2006.
He has over 28 years of investment management experience and has been with S&T for over 20 years. Prior to joining Stewart Capital Advisors and S&T Wealth Management Group, he was a portfolio manager with Rhode Island Hospital Trust and the Princeton Trust Company.
Chuck is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
Chuck speaks with the financial press on the bond markets. He has been quoted in Credit Investment News, Bloomberg News, and Investment News.
Jonathan V. Pavlik Assistant Vice President and Portfolio Manager
As a portfolio manager, Jonathan is responsible for management of private client asset allocation portfolios. Additionally, he supports research and analysis within our fixed income investment process and provides support for the firm’s all-cap, mid-cap, and equity income teams. Jonathan is also a member of the investment team that has managed the Stewart Capital Mid Cap Fund since it commenced operations in December 2006.
Prior to joining Stewart Capital Advisors and S&T Wealth Management Group, he was employed with PNC Capital Markets and Federated Investors.
Jonathan earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in finance from St. Vincent College. He holds both a Series 7 and 63 securities license.
Helena Rados Derr Associate Portfolio Manager
As a portfolio manager, Helena is responsible for management of private client asset allocation portfolios. Additionally, she supports research and analysis within our fixed income investment process and provides support for the firm’s all-cap, mid-cap, and equity income teams.
Helena is also a member of the investment team that manages the Stewart Capital Mid Cap Fund. Prior to joining Stewart Capital Advisors and S&T Wealth Management Group, she was employed with the retail department of First Commonwealth Bank.
Helena received a bachelor’s degree in economics, with a minor in German from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
